Holding onto a Vision

I've been holding onto a vision, and this vision has just started to become a reality. But I have to be as transparent as I can when I say that I have no idea what this vision will really become.

Having a vision is like having a compass - it just helps to point the way on what's to come.

I just know that day by day I see things happening with what this vision is - and I hold on 'bare knuckled' like riding a roller coaster ride at a hundred miles an hour.

There are days, however, where I see little to know progress.

It's at those moments I have to remember to 'be still and know'. This reminder encourages me that at those times where I get anxious, or frustrated, I should just rest on Him, look at the compass... and stay on course.

Just a thought for the day.

Dealing with Loss

There is nothing more tragic then hearing of someone who has passed away. Even worse when there is really nothing you can do to help ease their grief, except to be available where you can.

Sad to say that this type of ideology can still exist today.

Harlem Shake - Third Day

I have to say that out of all the Harlem Shake crazed videos out there, this one is one of the best.

Why? Because the band Third Day got their fans at a concert involved.

(they have some of the best concerts out there.... but I'm a bit biased)

When I was growing up, Saturday mornings were about having my bowl of cereal and choosing what Cartoon to watch. For the record, it was usually Warner Brothers with an emphasis on Bugs Bunny, The Coyote and the Road Runner.

But animation has changed in the past 30+ years, and sharing the stories from the Bible is already a challenge. The realm of animated videos and movies has far surpassed 2D animation shells and frame by frame stills. Story lines have become more complicated and the technology has advanced dramatically.

How can we share the practical application of God's word in the format where it can effectively reach an audience that would be otherwise choose to watch shows like reality TV?

What Is Love?

Earlier this week we paused for reflection and some had the opportunity to express their love for someone.

For me it was the chance to express my feelings for my Better Half.

It's always interesting to find what people think of when asked to define what 'love' is.... Here's a video shared by The Jubilee Project on the subject:

To me, Love is a verb. It requires action and a choice to take the action.

He Believes in Us

I was reminded the other day of the story of Job, but not necessarily the part that you may think about his story.

Now Job was a wealthy man, and through a portion of his life he lost his kids, his property became a shambles... and his health became very poor.

He was encouraged on all fronts to 'blame God' - but he never did.

But that's not the part of the story that I remember this time.

What I remember is the very beginning of the story, where God shares that he believes in Job.

In spite of all the struggles, God recognizes that Job has faith in Him.

This recognition comes before the trials and tribulations that Job is known to have gone through.

But Job becomes blessed through it all.

The relationship with God is a two way street, just like the relationships we have with our fellow human being.

Have faith in each other, just as God had in Job.

Job is like all of us - going through life with it's victories and defeats.

Have faith in God. He believes in Us.
